Upgrading Windows 7 for FREE

January 14, 2020… it’ll be here before you know it! Are you still running Windows 7 in your business or at home?

In many cases, you can upgrade these systems on your own. While the official offer for the free upgrade ended some time ago, it’s still available, and here are a couple of links to help:

Las Vegas Property Development & Infrastructure Conference

We're excited to participate and sponsor the upcoming Las Vegas Property Development & Infrastructure Conference! This conference is the first of it's kind, and will explore the question "What's in store for the Vegas property market?"

The Las Vegas Property Development & Infrastructure Conference addresses key issues that are driving property growth, providing insight from local experts through interactive and engaging panel discussions.

Retirement of Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2

It’ll be here before you know it – January 14, 2020, Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 both reach end of life. In IT, end of life (EOL) is a term describing the end of support for hardware and software. This means the manufacturer will no longer fix flaws, bugs, or vulnerabilities.

For our managed clients, we've implemented a new tool that will allow us to provide you with even better service. You’ll see a blue and orange “N” in the bottom right-hand corner of your computer.

The “N” stands for NetEffect, and clicking it will bring up a box (see below) with useful information that our support team may ask you for over the phone – items like computer name and logon server.

Huntress – A New Approach to Security

Modern antivirus programs work by detecting known malicious applications and behaviors using signature files and heuristics. While this is very effective to a point, we've recently added to our standard security suite a new type of protection from Huntress Labs.

NetEffect Back-To-School Supply Drive

A new school year marks an exciting time for students, but it also can be an expensive time for parents when it comes to purchasing school supplies. To help ease the process of school supply shopping, Las Vegas-based IT company NetEffect has partnered with Southern Nevada Children First to get students stocked up on everything they need to begin the new year.

NetEffect is Moving!

We're growing! Four years ago, we outgrew our original suite, and expanded into our existing office space. Again, we've grown, and are moving to a larger office. Our new space is centrally located near the interchange of the I-15 and I-215. Every day, we send our technical staff to client sites all around town, and this location will allow us to move people around town more efficiently.
