NetEffect Names Networking Veteran as Vice President of Sales
Austin, Texas. – December 5, 2006 – NetEffect, the leader in next generation Ethernet connectivity solutions, today named William T. Maxwell as vice president of sales. Maxwell, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the high performance computing, networking and storage markets, will spearhead sales of NetEffect's 10Gb iWARP Ethernet Channel Adapters (ECAs).
NetEffect has developed the industry's highest performing Ethernet channel adapter and is the only company delivering adapters that fully implement the iWARP Ethernet standard, allowing data center managers to realize 10Gbps throughput using existing Ethernet hardware and software.
Maxwell joins NetEffect from SilverStorm Technologies, a provider of host channel adapters based on InfiniBand, a proprietary data transport protocol. Maxwell served as SilverStorm's vice president of sales and business development, growing end-user, channel and OEM sales. Earlier in his career, Maxwell was vice president, global OEM sales, for 3COM Corporation, where he led a worldwide OEM sales and support organization to more than $800 million in revenue.
